While we appreciate any coverage, we kindly ask that all journalists and/or bloggers be respectful of the difference between the TED and TEDx brands. The ‘x’ in ‘TEDx’ stands for “independently organized events.” Any headline or text which implies “TED” is coming to Oakland, CA, is misleading. Press passes for TEDxFruitvale
Media attendance is counted toward the 100-person limit set by TEDx guidelines, so only a very limited number of seats will be set aside for reporters and bloggers. We will be seeking to invite a balance of local and national online, print, and broadcast reporters and will give preference to those who have a guaranteed outlet for their work (i.e. who are on staff at a media outlet or have a firm assignment).
